Halloween is one of my favorite holidays.  Not because I love what it stands for but because it's fun family stuff to do and begins the season of lots of great decorations!  My kids love to dress up and this year Lakyn chose a different costume for every event she went to!

First up, Gavin's school Halloween Party.  food, games, and trick or treat around the campus.

I was homeroom mom for Andrew's class so less pictures because I was a little busy.  They had facepainting, games, craft, food and fun at their Fall Colors Party.

I didn't get to go to Lakyns party at all because it was at the same time as Andrew's but grandma went for a little while and her teacher sent me lots of great pictures of the day.  It was a fall colors party as well but they dressed up as what they wanted to be when they grow up.  Lakyn was a Veterinarian--since she loves animals so much.  LOL  (these pictures are cell phone screen shots of what her teacher sent me)

Gavin enjoyed the fact that these parties were not during his .  .  . so he got treats from everyone's party!

Our church had a "first aid night" where the kids had to dress injured . . .   Not hard for Gavin who usually IS injured.

Then we went to an event downtown.  The kids did not like it, (too scary) but it was fun to see all the costumes for the half hour we were there before we decided it was too much and called it quits.  Lakyn the cold veterinarian attended this event.

Trick or treat night.  Lakyn the cheerleader attended this event.  Then our first group of trick or treaters . . . the neighborhood kids . . . and this isn't even all of them .  .  .

Finally, our last event.  The YMCA had a Halloween party for the kids.  Lakyn the super hero went to this event and came away with the prize for the prettiest costume.

Lakyn Cheerleading

Lakyn decided she wanted to do cheer leading this year.  We were not excited.  Tim is a girls basketball coach.  I was a runner, tennis player, basketball, softball . . . . but NEVER cheer.  It's just not our thing.  I am NOT a cheer mom.  Those women are just preppy, trendy, skinny, hip . . . I am NONE of those.  BUT . . . it was about Lakyn so we were all in.  Cheerleading it was.

I'm still not a cheer mom . . . I'm more soccer mom material (jeans, sweatshirts, raincoats . . . ) but she did enjoy it and it was great therapy for her.  Lots of memorization, learning motions and following a leader . . . good skills for her to learn.  She was so happy to be a part of her own team of all girls!

I had to miss the awards ceremony for a swim meet and Gavin's basketball but Tim took lots of pictures and Lakyn got a nice little photo frame with her team picture in it.
